Overview
Increff WMS supports the functionality to create pre-pack staging areas for storing and consolidating pack boxes before packing B2B orders. It also supports the consolidation of items in different pack boxes corresponding to the same order.
Terminology
Pre-Pack Staging Location/ Area
Represents a physical location created in a warehouse for storing and consolidating the pack boxes of order before packing.
Pack Box Consolidation
Movement of items from one open pack box to another pack box of the same order. This activity is usually done to consolidate the items in a box based on its capacity.
Workflow
Location Configuration screen in WMS
A new location of type Pre-pack Staging is introduced in WMS.
To create pre-pack staging locations an aisle of type Pre-pack Staging should be created.
This activity is similar to the creation of storage locations in the current system.
Creation of Pre-pack Staging Aisles
Following are the steps to create pre-pack staging aisles:
Go to Location Configuration screen present in Configuration category.
Navigate to the Configure Aisles tab.
Select the Aisle Type as PRE-PACK STAGING.
Select the Action Type as Create Aisle(s). (default selected)
Click on Download Template to download the sample CSV template.
Enter the aisle names and upload the CSV file. The maximum row limit allowed in the CSV is 5000.
Click on the Submit button.
Enable / Disable Pre-pack Staging Aisles
Following are the steps to enable/disable pre-pack staging aisles:
Go to the Location Configuration screen present in the Configuration category.
Navigate to the Configure Aisles tab.
Select the Aisle Type as PRE-PACK STAGING.
Select the Action Type as Enable Aisle(s) or Disable Aisle(s).
Click on Download Template to download the sample CSV template.
Enter the aisle names and upload the CSV file. The maximum row limit allowed in the CSV is 5000.
Click on the Submit button.
Pre-pack staging Aisles can be disabled only when all the locations in the aisle are eligible for disable.
In case any of the location in the pre-pack staging aisle consists of a pack box, the aisle cannot be disabled.
Creation of Pre-pack staging Locations
Following are the steps to create pre-pack staging locations:
Go to Location Configuration screen present in Configuration category.
Navigate to the Configure Locations tab. (default selected)
Select the Aisle Type as PRE-PACK STAGING.
Select the Action Type as Create Location(s).
Click on Download Template to download the sample CSV template.
Enter the values and upload the CSV file. The maximum row limit allowed in the CSV is 5000.
Click on the Submit button.
The pre-pack staging locations will be created successfully.
The system will automatically print the pre-pack staging location ID stickers.
Enable / Disable Pre-pack Staging Locations
Following are the steps to enable/disable pre-pack staging locations:
Go to the Location Configuration screen present in the Configuration category.
Navigate to the Configure Locations tab. (default selected)
Select the Aisle Type as PRE-PACK STAGING.
Select the Action Type as Enable Location(s) or Disable Location(s).
Click on Download Template to download the sample CSV template.
Enter the values and upload the CSV file. The maximum row limit allowed in the CSV is 5000.
Click on the Submit button.
In case the pre-pack staging location consists of at least one pack box, the location cannot be disabled.
Pack Box Put Away screen in WMS
After the items are sorted and added in a pack box, it can be stored in a pre-pack staging location until the boxes for the order are packed. This step is called as putaway of pack box to a pre-pack staging location.
Putaway pack box to a pre-pack staging location
Following are the steps to put away any pack box to a pre-pack staging location:
Go to Pack Box Put Away screen present in B2B Sorting & Combining category.
Scan the Pack Box ID.
If any other pack box(es) of that order is present in a pre-pack staging location:
The screen will display the Location ID in the Confirm Location text box.
Scan the Location ID where the other pack boxes of that order are present.
If no other pack box of that order is present in a pre-pack staging location:
The screen displays the Location ID as Scan any Empty Location.
Scan any empty Location ID in the Confirm Location text box.
Only OPEN or CLOSE status pack boxes can be putawayed to a pre-pack staging location.
Get empty pre-pack staging locations
Following are the steps to fetch empty pre-pack staging locations:
Go to Pack Box Put Away screen present in B2B Sorting & Combining category.
Go to the Check Empty Locations section and Scan any Location ID.
In case there are any empty locations in the aisle, then the system will display at most 50 empty locations in the screen. Since distance is not configured for pre-pack staging locations, the user can select the required location from the suggested empty locations.
In case, if pack box is putaway in every location of the scanned aisle, then an error will be thrown. In such cases try scanning any location from the nearest aisle.
B2B Item Sorting screen in WMS
The screen is modified to accommodate the following sorting mechanisms:
Single-level sorting
Multi-level sorting
Multi-level sorting
Multi-level sorting is more efficient if there are more orders to be sorted which are placed in multiple aisles.
Following are the steps in multi-level sorting:
First sort:
Go to the B2B Item Sorting screen present in B2B Sorting & Combining section.
Turn ON the Skip Pack Box ID Scan toggle.
Scan the Item Code.
The screen displays the Aisle ID and Location ID in a pre-pack staging area where the order is placed.
Physically segregate the items based on Aisle ID.
Once all the items are segregated, go to the respective aisle and then do the second sort (for every aisle).
Second sort:
Go to the B2B Item Sorting screen present in B2B Sorting & Combining section.
Turn OFF the Skip Pack Box ID Scan toggle.
Scan the Item Code.
The screen displays the Aisle ID and Location ID in pre-pack staging area where the order is placed.
Scan the Pack Box ID present in that location.
Once all the items of the order are added to pack box, a notification that the Order is ready to invoice is displayed on the screen.
Single-level sorting
Single-level sorting is best suited when all the pack boxes of a pick order group are present nearby or the items correspond to fewer orders.
Following are the steps to perform single-level sorting.
Go to the B2B Item Sorting screen present in B2B Sorting & Combining section.
Turn OFF the Skip Pack Box ID Scan toggle. (turned off by default)
Scan the Item Code.
The screen displays the Aisle ID and Location ID in pre-pack staging area where the order is placed.
Scan the Pack Box ID present in that location.
Once all the items of the order are added to pack box, a notification that the Order is ready to invoice is displayed on the screen.
Pack Box Consolidation screen in WMS
This screen is used to transfer items present/not present in one open pack box to another of the same order.
The following types of pack box consolidation are supported:
Item Transfer
Box Transfer
Item Transfer
In this type of consolidation, a PICKED item that is not added to any box or a PACKING item already present in an OPEN box can be transferred to another box with the same order.
Following are the steps to transfer an item to a pack box:
Go to the Pack Box Consolidation screen present in the B2B Sorting & Combining section.
Navigate to the Item Transfer tab. (default selected)
Scan the Destination Pack Box ID.
The Pack Box Status is displayed on the screen.
Scan the Item Code.
Box Transfer
In this type of consolidation, all the items from one OPEN pack box can be transferred to another OPEN pack box of the same order
Following are the steps to be followed:
Go to the Pack Box Consolidation screen present in the B2B Sorting & Combining section.
Navigate to the Box Transfer tab.
Scan the Destination Pack Box ID.
The Destination Pack Box Status is displayed on the screen.
Scan the Source Pack Box ID.
View Pre Pack Staging screen in WMS
This screen displays the details of the consolidated boxes in the pre-pack staging area. The details can be filtered based on Order Status.
Based on the selected search parameters the following details are displayed on the screen:
Location and aisle name where the boxes are put away
Order ID of boxes in the pre-pack staging location.
The total number of pack boxes of the order in the pre-pack staging location.
The total number of items in the pack boxes which are put away in the pre-pack staging location.
SLA (required by time) and order status of the corresponding order
This screen also displays the following details :
Total count of ENABLED pre-pack staging locations
Total count of DISABLED pre-pack staging locations
Total count of EMPTY pre-pack staging locations
Total count of pre-pack staging locations with boxes corresponding to PROCESSING (PICKING) orders
Total count of pre-pack staging locations with boxes corresponding to COMPLETED orders
Total count of pre-pack staging locations with boxes corresponding to CANCELLED orders
Total count of pre-pack staging locations with boxes corresponding to UNFULFILLABLE orders
The screen also has the option to view Ready to Invoice Orders based on a toggle.
Pack Box Picking screen in WMS
This screen is used to remove and pick the pack box from a pre-pack staging location. This functionality is used while moving the pack boxes from the location for packing.
Following are the steps in Pack Box picking:
Go to the Pack Box Picking screen present in B2B Sorting & Combining section.
Scan the Pack Box ID.
Scan the Location ID.
Bulk Packing screen in WMS
Following are the steps to close the pack box using the Bulk Packing screen:
Go to Bulk Packing screen present in B2B Packing & Dispatch section.
Scan the Pack Box ID.
The SKU details and the scanned quantity are displayed on the screen.
Click on the Close Box button.
A confirmation popup is displayed.
Scan all the items physically present in the box.
In case no items are present in the box or all the items present in the box are scanned, then move to the next step.
Scan the Pack Box ID.
Click on the Confirm button.
In case one or more items are not scanned, an option to mark the items as missing is displayed with the following details:
Increff SKU ID
Client SKU ID
Scanned Qty
Lost Qty
In case the items are found, click on Continue scanning Item(s) button, or else click on Mark Lost button. These items will be moved to LOST and the lost inventory for the SKU will be increased.
After this step, in case if any items were scanned during confirmation, then the box will get closed.
