USP External Serial Code Usage
When processing orders as large scale asy 5000 orders/items a day, it becomes crucial to have serialization to maintain accuracy and operational hygiene.
USP supports order processing on any external serial Ids. Only requirement is to map those serial Ids to SKUs.
Some clients may not have serial Ids already generated or present on their items, to support such clients USP also gives a separate functionality to Generate serial Ids and to print serial Ids.
Tagging items with external Item Ids has the benefit that if any item is found lying on the floor there is a physical identification for that item.
For example PO No and pick list Id on the sticker will help to know exactly why the item was taken out of storage and for what purpose.
External Serial Id Generation
There are three ways of external Serial Id generation possible in Increff USP which are as follows:
Bulk Generating serial Ids by Quantity and bulk print the stickers.
Bulk Generating serial ids by CSV upload and bulk print the stickers
Increff USP can generate the serial Ids one by one and paste it on the items.
Â
1 and 2 requires mapping of SKU to Serial Ids to be created in system. With these work flows we recommend using the picklist sorting screen to be used with capture external serial ids configuration enabled.
In 3, Mapping of External Serial Id is already generated with SKU here we recommend Sorting with External Serial Id workflow to reduce the number of scans.

Bulk Generating and Printing stickers by Quantity
The process is as follows:
Select client.
Enter the attribute values for the sticker (PO No and Pick list Id in our case).
Enter the quantity of stickers needed.
The attached printer will print the stickers and it will also be available for download on the screen.
After this the stickers can be pasted on the item Ids.
Note: At this stage there is no mapping in the system to know which item Id is corresponding to which EAN.
Bulk Generating and Printing stickers by CSV upload
Client can upload the unique serial codes that their system might have generated in the form of a csv and then print the stickers.
The process is as follows:
Select client.
Enter the optional attribute values for the sticker (PO No and Pick list Id in our case).
Upload the external Item Ids as a csv file.
The attached printer will print the stickers.
After this the stickers can be pasted on the item Ids.
Note: At this stage there is no mapping in the system to know which item Id is corresponding to which EAN.

One By One Item Id Generation
The process is as follows:
Select the client.
Enter the optional attribute values for the sticker (PO No and Pick list Id in our case).
Scan the client SKU Id
Printer will print 1 external Serial Id sticker.
Scan the External Serial id barcode
In this method the client SKU mapping will also happen at this stage itself. Next step could be Sorting by External Item id or packing by External Serial ids
