Justification for attribute priority
Priority of the attributes alter from category to category based on various factors. A detailed list of these factors has been provided below.
Attributes | Justification |
Occasion | Occasion (ex: Formal, Casual, Beachwear etc.) will be considered under the subcategory. This will be the primary factor that determines the subsequent filters |
Sleeve | Sleeve type gets filtered based on Occasion, so should be given immediate next priority |
Color | Color is the most preferred visual attribute and will often be a crucial factor for all businesses |
Fabric | Tactile and Comfort educing attribute |
Visual attribute preferred immediately after color
Fit/Silhouette | Defines the fall/drape of the apparel. Gets priority as it acts as an extension to visual aspects like the shape of the garment. Customers loyal to fit sometimes always prefer their favorite fit over any other top attribute |
Collar | The collar is also an attribute filtered based on occasion, the decision of the type of collars funneled down on the basis of occasion |
Pattern | Businesses know that consumers don't pick pattern unless they are shopping pattern specific products. Patterns don't alter the primary filters applied first. Pattern just serves as an additional attribute above the already preferred filters. |
Embellishment | Least important visual attribute, hence it is usually lower down the hierarchy |
Hem Length | An attribute that is highly considered for top wear as well as bottom wear. Gets its precedence based on gender as well. Women prefer length primarily in t-shirts and skirts whereas on the other hand, men do not consider hem length as a funneling factor |
Neck | One of the forgotten attributes. Businesses don't prefer keeping this attribute as hierarchy as this is not something customers are loyal to like fit |
Rise | The rise is an attribute that is derived directly from fit. It's priority comes up higher due to consumer preference |
An functional/ornamental attribute swiftly gaining its popularity amidst women
Fastener | The least important attribute in bottom wear. A functional attribute |
Frame Shape | Based off the shape of a persons face, one decided what frame shape fits best for them and that is the first priority |
Frame size | as per preference wide, narrow, large etc sizes can be selected in a particular frame shape |
Frame color and Tint | Frame color and tint are of lower priority as they are not functional attributes and are mainly for visual appeal hence is majorly dependent on the buyers preference rather than their need. |
