WMS: Storage Management in Video Capturing

What to Expect

Say goodbye to captured videos getting stuck due to insufficient storage! This update introduces intelligent storage management ensuring a smoother, more reliable video-capturing experience.

Impact

  • Minimized Disruptions and Enhanced Reliability: Proactive storage monitoring prevents interruptions and errors during video capture and helps reduce the risk of data loss due to storage limitations ensuring a smoother workflow.

  • Greater control: Clear alerts and management options empower you to manage storage space effectively.

Highlights

  • Proactive Monitoring: The application now monitors the available storage in the browser, system, and NAS shared folder.

  • Preventative Measures: Video capture is automatically paused if available storage limits are breached:

    • NAS Shared Folder Limitations: If the NAS shared folder’s storage is above 90%, video saving will be blocked, ensuring no further space issues for shared resources.

    • Browser Storage Limitations: Chrome permits up to 60% usage of total system storage for a site. If the browser storage is 90% filled, the captured video will not be saved.

    • System Storage Limitations: If the system storage is 90% full, the video will not be saved.

  • Clear User Alerts: If storage exceeds more than 90%:

    • An error modal provides clear notifications about insufficient storage and offers options to manage pending videos.

    • If the user chooses to “Dismiss and Continue“, the system will allow the user to proceed with the forward or return processing flow without saving any videos, while a persistent screen message will indicate “Video not getting recorded due to insufficient storage in your device“. The same message will be displayed on the video preview window.
